Der spektakuläre Hit lebt von dem hervorragenden Produktionsdesign, dem gegen den Typ besetzten Batman-Darsteller Michael Keaton und dem hemmungslos chargierenden Filmbösewicht Jack Nicholson (der durch seine Beteiligung an den Merchandising-Umsätzen über 50 Mio. Dollar verdiente). Resultat: Eine bessere Comicverfilmung muss man lange suchen.
